In 1998, the American horror film Psycho was remade by Gus Van Sant for Universal Pictures. The film was both a commercial and critical failure.
Why was it a failure?
Was it because Gus remade the movie….
- shot-for-shot
- edited the movie exactly the same
- had the same camera movements
- followed the script word for word
……or was it because he used a different cast, updated the musical score and used different actors (no offense Vince Vaughn)?
Who knows?
What if life were so simple that we could remake memories that were bad experiences into good ones? Good to even better?
What if we could remake relationships?
Before you choose to remake anything, take a moment to think about how it would feel if it didn’t turn out like you wanted.
Maybe you should just enjoy the original for what it was and when it was.
