What’s working at 5:30 am on a Tuesday…

July 10, 2018 By John N. Robinson Leave a Comment

I noticed that spiders are making webs…

People, who may be homeless, are collecting cans…

People are exercising….

People are driving…

Sprinklers are watering lawns…

Dogs are walking, with owners…

Garbage trucks are on their routes…

Construction people are doing building stuff…

Bus drivers are driving…

Landscapers are doing their jobs…

Homeless people are gathering their belongings…

Washing machines are washing…

Razors are taking away unwanted hair….

All in all, some of us believe that the homeless are lazy, the minimum wage people are lazy and the undocumented workers are lazy….

…. BUT ARE THEY???????

#1 Consumer Objection is ……

July 2, 2018 By John N. Robinson Leave a Comment

Isn’t it funny when you think of why you object to buying something.

Sometimes it’s price…

Sometimes it’s the color or it doesn’t fit….

But what we don’t think about much is that we just don’t believe what they believe about their product or service.

When designing your next offering to the world, stop for a second to think about what you want your tribe to believe about it.

Then design it that way!!!

My vote didn’t count?????

What happens when the change that you voted for didn’t happen?

It’s time to make lemonade!

What changes will you make for your life with this unexpected change?

Going forward, here’s the lemonade that I am drinking.

  • Learning a new language, so that it’s easier to live somewhere else (wink, wink)
  • Increasing my government policy IQ by educating myself, to start – subscribe to New York Times
  • Paying more attention to causes that matter to me
  • Focusing on policy changes that will benefit my causes

And most importantly, asking myself “What good can come from this new change?”….

Raising my lemonade glass to the world…..

Picked On or Poked Toward Greatness

July 22, 2015 By John N. Robinson Leave a Comment

If you know me then you know I walk the tightrope of being labeled a jerk because sometimes people feel picked on when in essence I am poking them in the direction toward their greatness. While I know that it’s human nature to make mistakes and miss out on the “softer” ways to poke, I also believe that it’s also about understanding one’s intention.

The next time you feel picked on, take a moment to ask.

  • Why is he/she sharing this?
  • What outcome is he/she hoping for?
  • What emotions am I experiencing?
  • Do his/her intentions align with his/her core values?
  • Is there an outcome, response, or lack of response that will hurt his/her feelings?
  • Is this sharing in the service of connection?

No more lecturing from me. 😉

2nd Annual Open House

July 13, 2015 By John N. Robinson Leave a Comment

If any of you have ever had to sell a house in the past 5-years then I am sure you can attach to this idea. For me, I tried to sell my Scottsdale home and my Chicago homes without much success. Maybe it’s my inability to pick the right realtor or it’s the market or both.

No matter what, I experienced a 2nd annual open house. What does that mean? It means that I had to do a few things different than I did with the first open house. Things like new landscaping, de-cluttering and maybe a few coats of fresh paint. Oh and a price change!!!  But to no avail, none of those things worked. Even a realtor change didn’t work.

So what’s the point I am trying to make. If a 2nd annual open house doesn’t work, get ready for a third annual. In business, we learn then we try, we learn then we try and then we try again.

Go out there and try again, whatever it is.
